Education and Experience: Dr. Petersen completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Brigham Young University with cum laude honors in 2005. His Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree was completed at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine in 2009. Prior to opening Petersen Family Dentistry in 2014, he worked both in private practice settings, as well as with Peak Vista Community Health Centers in Limon, Strasburg, and Flagler, Colorado. Through this work, he has gained a wealth of experience, serving patients of diverse backgrounds and with diverse dental health needs. Dr. Petersen continues to expand his knowledge and skills through a commitment to completing many hours of continuing education each year.

Outside Interests: When not at work, chances are you’ll find Dr. Petersen with his family. He and his wife have seven children, and they know how to have fun. Dr. Petersen and six of the children are pursuing their black belts in Karate. He also enjoys the Colorado and Wyoming outdoors whenever possible and is active in church service.
